Steve Blank's Oven-Baked French Toast Recipe

 

In our April/May issue, we showcase Phoenix Rising owner, Steve Blank. As part of his profile, Blank offered to share a favorite recipe with our online readers.

Ingredients:

1 loaf of Phoenix Rising Cinnamon Bread
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 Tbsp. corn syrup
6 eggs
2 cups milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

 

Method:

Place sugar, butter, and syrup in small sauce pan and cut until syrupy.  Pour into a grease 9" X 13" oven proof dish.  

Cut bread into 3/4 inch slices and arrange in the oven proof dish containing the syrup mixture; set aside.

Blend together eggs, vanilla and milk; pour over the bread; cover and refrigerate overnight.

Bake uncovered at 365 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
