Last week, my son and I happened to be near El Mercado around lunchtime. So in we popped to Mi Tierra Cafe & Panaderia  for a quick bite on the patio alongside tourists and locals. While enjoying our meal, I spied a yellow flyer advertising the famed restaurant's Thanksgiving fare along with a note that "Orders To Go Given Special Attention." 

Hmm....if it weren't for our existing plans to visit my son's godparents that day, I might take up Mi Tierra on the offer for a Mexican Turkey En Mole Dinner complete with Sopa de Asparagus, Turkey en Mole Poblano, Tamale Corn Bread Stuffing, Arroz Blanco Con Rajas, Pay de Calabaza and a Bolillo. Fresh seasonal veggies are included in the per plate price of $14.25 for adults; $6.95 for kids. 

A more traditional meal of turkey, potatoes, giblet gravey, et al is also on offer. You can choose to grab and go or dine at Mi Tierra. All of those shimmery Christmas lights on the ceiling... no need to clean the dishes after you dine... Mi Tierra's Thanksgiving feast just might put you in the holiday spirit!
