Galveston Fesitval of Lights
14-Jan 2 Galveston Festival of Lights Festive sights and sounds will fill the air at Moody Gardens, one of the largest holiday celebrations on the Gulf Coast. Over 85,000 visitors attend, many who make the festival a holiday tradition. Over 100 sound-enhanced animated light displays and nightly live entertainment. Strap on a pair of skates and glide across the ice at the area’s only outdoor ice skating rink. Take pictures with Santa or enjoy a variety of holiday-themed films at the IMAX 3D Theater, Ridefilm Theater and 4D Special FX Theater.

September 28 - August 22, 2010 The Culture of Wine The Museum at the George Bush Presidential Library will delve into the production of wine in the United States. From the moment you step into the vineyard area of the exhibit, you will learn about the differences in soil types, vineyard management practices and harvest techniques. Stations throughout the exhibit emphasize how a good winemaker combines techniques and processes he can control with what Mother Earth provides to produce distinctive wines. The exhibit begins with the history of the first vineyards planted in Texas by Spanish missionaries and continues to the important role of Texas rootstock in saving many of the French vineyards in the late 19th century. Additionally, The Culture of Wine will explore Thomas Jefferson's lifelong passion for fine wine and his efforts to introduce a wine culture to the United States. www.bushlibrary.tamu.edu/museum/exhibits; College Station.
